Does HHC Get You High?

Novel cannabinoids are all the rage in the legal hemp scene, and products made from various THC isomers like HHC, delta 8 THC and THC-O are widely available online and in retail stores across the country.

HHC is gaining increased attention in the cannabis space, but what are the effects of HHC like?

Most importantly, does HHC get you high?

It does indeed.

We’ve explored HHC in-depth before and have sampled some of the best HHC products. Here we’ll take a deeper look at everything there is to know about the HHC high, from its duration and effects, to finding the highest quality HHC products.

Key Takeaways

  • Yes, HHC gets you high.
  • The intoxicating effects of HHC are similar to Delta 9 THC, but tend to be somewhat milder.
  • Most consumers report the effects of an HHC high are in between Delta 9 and Delta 8 THC.
  • The effects of HHC are said to last about as long as the effects from traditional Delta 9 THC.

Does HHC Get You High?

Yes, HHC gets you high.

The semi-synthetic cannabinoid was created in 1945 by hydrogenating delta 9 THC. By adding hydrogen molecules to THC, a completely new molecule that was less susceptible to oxidation and breakdown was created.

Essentially, this means HHC has a longer shelf life than traditional Delta 9 THC or Delta 8 THC. When derived from hemp, it’s legal at the federal level under the 2018 Farm Bill, making the novel cannabinoid easier to access in states where recreational marijuana is illegal.

In my personal experience, HHC offers all the same euphoria and stress relief as regular weed. The psychoactive effects aren’t as intense. But let’s be honest, sometimes that can be a good thing.

Compared to my typical D9 dosage, HHC was considerably less intense, but still lifted my mood and offered a solid body buzz.

Much like traditional cannabis strains, HHC products are sold in both indica and sativa varieties. The effects of HHC products largely depend on whether you choose indica, sativa, or hybrid products.

Personally, HHC makes me super relaxed, but I can consume it during the day without becoming unmotivated. That said, HHC products do seem to make me a little more sleepy than traditional D9 THC.

While reports of HHC are all anecdotal, most users report something similar to my personal experience with the cannabinoid. It’s very similar to D9 THC, albeit the high is a bit more mellow.

Whether you experience stimulating or sedating effects will largely depend on the type of strain you consume and your own unique chemistry.

No matter what type of HHC product you purchase, always make sure it’s third-party tested and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) is easily accessible on the website. COAs give insight into a product’s potency and if it was tested for any potentially harmful ingredients. Buying online is the best way to check COAs and find the safest, highest quality product.

At Nature and Bloom, we’ve tested countless hemp products and are fortunate to have experienced the effects of several novel cannabinoids, HHC included. Check out our review of the best HHC cartridges we’ve tried, or our HHC gummies review if you prefer edibles.

HHC Gummy Brands Tested

Do HHC Gummies Get You High?

Yes, HHC gummies will get you high because they contain HHC.

If a product contains HHC, you’re going to feel the euphoric effects the cannabinoid is known for.

The only downside of consuming HHC gummies is that it can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes for the effects to start to kick in. Don’t be fooled by the slow onset, though.

HHC gummies can get you out-of-this-world high, with effects that linger for hours. As with any cannabis edible, the effects of HHC gummies will last longer than other consumption methods.

Trust me, I’ve tried them. Vivimu’s HHC Gummies to be specific. And let me tell you, not only do these gummies taste great, they definitely get you high. Within 30 minutes, I started to notice a deeper sense of relaxation and my mood was lifted.

The high I experienced when I tried Vivmu’s HHC gummies was very similar to Delta 9 THC gummies, but on a much less intense scale. Euphoric and pleasantly relaxed for sure, but not nearly as high as when consuming D9 gummies.

How Strong Is The HHC High?

HHC produces a high that’s similar to Delta 9 THC, although it’s known to be somewhat less intense.

Most consumers say that an HHC high is somewhere in the middle of Delta 9 and Delta 8 THC. Not as strong as Delta 9, but stronger than Delta 8

With that in mind, HHC could be considered the middle ground between Delta 9 and Delta 8 THC.

Because the effects of HHC are said to be milder than Delta 9 THC, HHC products can be a good option for those new to cannabis or individuals who find Delta 9 products too strong.

How Long Does The HHC High Last For?

An HHC high lasts about as long as a delta 9 THC high.

Keep in mind that the duration of a high can depend on a lot of factors. Method of consumption plays the biggest role in duration.

For example, smoking HHC flower can make you feel high almost instantly. The effects will typically last anywhere from 1-3 hours.

Comparatively, it will take longer to feel the effects of an HHC edible. After the effects of an edible kick in, however, those effects can last hours longer than when HHC is smoked (typically, around 6-9 hours).

Wrapping Up: HHC Is Strong

HHC is a powerful cannabinoid that’s not quite as strong as Delta 9 THC but considerably stronger than Delta 8 THC.

When it comes down to it, HHC can induce similar effects to traditional THC (aka regular weed). Known for being milder than traditional THC, HHC is an excellent choice when you’re looking to get elevated but not blasted into outer space.

Across the board, HHC is very similar to Delta 9 THC, from the time it takes effects to kick in, to how these effects feel and how long they last.

The biggest difference between the two? HHC is a bit more mellow.

Another thing on the never-ending list of positives about this novel cannabinoid: HHC is easier to access across the country. Because it’s federally unregulated, consumers who don’t have access to traditional Delta 9 THC products can still get high with HHC.

If you’re unsure of how to access HHC, buying HHC products online that have been third-party tested with accessible COAs is the way to go.
