Veriheal and Leafwell Offer Similar Services

You may have noticed that these companies offer an extremely similar service. At first glance, it may even seem like they do the same thing.

But when you peel the layers back and take a deeper look at their offerings a few key differences begin to stand out.

Continue reading to see what these are below:

Veriheal VS Leafwell Medical Card

Veriheal is the oldest, largest operating medical marijuana telehealth company.

But Leafwell is quickly catching up, already servicing most states.

Yes. Both are solid options for getting your medical marijuana card online. But, you will need to consider your personal preferences to decide which platform is right for you.

Each has its strengths and weaknesses that may help you make your decision. Here is our comparison of their services.

MMJ Services Offered

The core services offered by the two companies are very similar.

They will schedule you to meet with a licensed cannabis physician who will be a qualified expert on the use of medical cannabis within your state.

They will discuss your options and recommend you for MMJ if appropriate.

They both have customer support that will help you finish out the process. There are still a couple of steps once you receive your recommendation letter from the physician.

These include filing your state application and paying any applicable fees.

However, Veriheal offers a broader set of services to its patients, beyond what is outlined above. Noteably, Veriheal also gives you the option to pay extra upfront for state filing assistance unlike Leafwell.

Either way, both companies will help guide you through completing the steps on your own. Just reach out to their customer support representatives if you need help.

Secondly, Veriheal also gives you the option to schedule an appointment to meet with a cannabis coach, Including our in house medical reviewer Dr Abraham Benavides, who is the lead cannabis coach at Veriheal.

veriheal coaching faq
Veriheal Cannabis Coaching

These coaches will speak with you to find personalized cannabis treatment options. The appointments also help you increase your medical marijuana knowledge.

You can get this personalized information before deciding if an MMJ card is right for you. This is available even in states without an MMJ program. These kinds of meetings are strictly educational.

They also partner with dispensaries throughout the country. They provide the contact information for the top-rated dispensaries in the country. This way you can be connected with the best medical products from the start and budtenders to help you find your way.

Veriheal are constantly updating their partner list too. That way they can make accessing medication as easy as possible for you and your other patients.

In comparison, Leafwell does have some excellent resources for patients. But it is just not as impressive as the interactive and personalized options available with Veriheal.

MMJ State Coverage

Veriheal operates in all states with a medical marijuana program.

As regulatory changes occur they update their services in real time to cover all areas that allow MMJ.

They also provide cannabis education services for people regardless of location. Residents of all US states can schedule short appointments with a cannabis coach.

They will help you understand how cannabis could affect any of your ailments. They will also help you understand the laws in your state.

As such, you can learn about your options if you live in a state that does not yet have an MMJ program, or if appears to be heading that way and if the MMJ program is just not active yet but has passed regulatory hurdles.

On the flipside, Leafwell only operates in 34 states at the moment, so 3 less than Veriheal at time of publishing.

They are also trying to keep up with regulatory changes as they happen. As more states allow MMJ they add them to the expansion list.

Pricing Compared

Here is where Leafwell has a significant advantage over Veriheal. In short, Leafwell is cheaper than Veriheal. At least in most cases and in the worst case, it’s the same price.

Leafwell charges different prices for their consultation appointments depending on your state. Sometimes, the price difference is an astonishing 300%+.

The price can be as low as $49 in states like California and max out at $199 in their top range for patients in some states like Connecticut and Illinois

However, don’t forget to account for the price of state fees. For example, In Connecticut, they are $100. You can choose to sign up with a friend and receive 10% off of your consultation appointments too.

On the flipside, Veriheal charges $199 for each patient. It is the same no matter which state you apply from.

They also have a two-person plan for $379 per year. Using this package will earn you and a friend 10% off your total cost if you sign up together.

So yes. When it comes to pricing, Leafwell is the cheaper option overall. But there are a few trade-offs.

Veriheal broader service options prior to deciding if you want an online medical mairjuana recommendation are helpful for those who need more guidance.

Also, if you’re applying for a California, Colorado, Massachusetts or Washington state MMJ card, you’ll also get a free cannabis coach consultation worth $79 for free when applying for your recommendation.

Here, you will be able to meet with an expert to discuss what cannabis products and doses could best suit your conditions.

More generally, Veriheal also offers a larger area of service. So if you live in states like Idaho, Kentucky, or Tennessee they may be one of your only options.

Veriheal offers discounts for returning customers too. If it is time for you to renew your card you may want to check your email inbox for special offers.

Nonetheless, Leafwell is more often than not, simply cheaper for the same money back guaranteed service if you just need your MMJ card or renewal.

Leafwell also uses a variable pricing model when it comes to renewing a medical card. These fees are often slightly less than an initial recommendation.

In contrast, Veriheal charges the same as they do for an initial consultation appointment. So no matter what state you are in you will pay $199 for renewals.

This a bummer as the price difference between the two companies on renewals can be vast. For example, if you’re in California and opt for a renewal with Leafwell it will cost you $49, whereas Veriheal will charge you $199.

Yup. That means you could pay for your California medical card for 4 years for the price of 1 year with Veriheal. Insane!

All in all, If a low price is a significant selling point for you, we hear you and recommend you head over to Leafwell!

Customer Service

Here is where Veriheal has the advantage.

When it comes to customer service both companies have thousands of reviews from happy customers. Many state that they received quality customer service.

Review after review mentions how friendly and helpful the doctors are. Others touch on how polite the customer support representatives are. Many simply state how positive the overall experience was.

When it comes to their policies, here is what you can expect.

Leafwell’s clinical team is operational from 8 am Eastern Time to 6 pm Pacific Time. They are open 7 days a week. This is the only timeframe that they guarantee support from their customer service team.

If you have a question regarding refunds they will review them on a case by case basis. They ask you to reach out to their team at [email protected] or [email protected] to discuss refund options.

They do not offer refunds if an online consultation was completed by their service standards.  For example, if the state denies you but Leafwell approves you, they will not issue a refund.

If a refund is issued it will be to the original payment method used for the service fee.

Leafwell do not have a chat feature on their page either. This is definitely an inconvenience compared to the near-instant responses Veriheal can provide.

Yup. Veriheal has customer service support available 24/7!

You can contact them by calling their customer service phone line. Or you can send them an email at [email protected]. You can even fax them if that is what you are into!

One more option they provide their patients is the instant chat feature on their website. This is a really cool way to get answers to your questions, as it is almost instant.

online chat veriheal
Veriheal Chat

It also allows their support representatives to give personalized answers with more detail than what’s on their FAQ page.

Overall, It takes about two minutes for a support rep to respond to your instant chat. You can see when someone has seen your message and when they are responding.

I tested it out when writing this article. My message was delivered at 10:04 am. It was read at 10:05 am and I could see the three bouncing dots indicating that the customer service rep was responding right away. I had an answer at 10:06 am!

Their refund policies are that if you are not approved for medical cannabis by a doctor then you get a full refund.

However, if you get a recommendation and then fail to finish the process of getting an MMJ card from your state they will not issue a refund.

Overall, Veriheal edges out to the front here due to their broader customer service options and availability.

It’s essential to note that while both companies offer a money back guarantee, the state approval/denial for MMJ is an exemption to this rule. Note – nearly all patients who are approved by either provider are approved by the state.

However, state denial is still a (unlikely but) possible outcome.

Customer Anecdotes

These companies are two of the biggest providers for helping people get their MMJ cards.

There are a massive set of reviews and customer feedback notes available to help you decide if they are worth your time.

But, that would take you ages. I know it took me forever! So just keep reading for the summary.

I spent a whole day diving deep into the pool of customer opinions to share with you the main themes.

Below, we will take a look at Facebook reviews, Yelp reviews, BBB scores, and Trustpilot reviews.

Veriheal has a B+ grade and accreditation from the BBB. However, it also currently has an alert issued by the BBB

It seems there has been a recent uptick in customer complaints. However, the number is still generally small. There have been 68 closed complaints in the last three years.

Veriheal has responded to each complaint with a personalized message and resolved the issues.

It is a good reminder that while they do have a legitimate company with quality policies in place things can still slip through the cracks.

The complaints are spread across all the states and seem to be situations stemming from individual staff members or patient errors during the application process.

BBB
BBB Veriheal Compliant

Leafwell is not accredited by the BBB and so does not have a grade or any other information.

Veriheal has a 4.8-star review rating by Trustpilot, where 91% of their 1,467 customer reviews are rated as “Excellent”.

They have replied to 82% of the negative reviews and have an average response time of 24 hours or less.

Most reviews went like this:

Veriheal Trustpilot

Over and over again the reviews mention how fast it was to get a recommendation. They also mention how helpful the chat feature was and how great the staff was.

Note – Leafwell does not have any Trustpilot reviews. Veriheal has 770 reviews on Facebook with an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

These are just some of the recent reviews which indicate a positive experience.

Nonetheless, there are some negative experiences sprinkled throughout. But it is clear that the large majority of patients had a fast and simple experience they would recommend to others.

Veriheal FB Review Comments

Leafwell doesn’t have any Facebook reviews. But they do have over 1,600 page likes and over 1,800 followers.

Veriheal has 47 Yelp reviews. They have a 3.5-star rating from these customers. The reviews here were almost evenly mixed between the positive and the negative.

Leafwell also has a 3.5-star rating on Yelp, however, they only have four reviews on the site.

Other Points

Veriheal does a great job of fitting into the lifestyle of MMJ patients. They make sure to offer value that can make patient life easier.

For example, their page has an edible dosage calculator. It will walk you through making your own cannabis recipes at home.

You can use it to find out the potency of your infused oil. Then you can use it to find out the proper portion sizes for your recipes.

Their Cannabis Central page, authored by our in house medical reviewer Dr Benavides, is full of different articles covering all aspects of the cannabis industry. And the education portion of their site is packed full of helpful resources.

Leafwell may not have as far of a reach as Veriheal when it comes to extra services for MMJ patients. But they are a close second.

Where they really shine is through their excellent resources. They provide medical information and the science behind cannabis. And they have possibly the best state-specific resources available.

On their site you can search databases for conditions MMJ may help with. You can also find out everything you need to know about the basics of cannabis. And you can click on your state to find the current laws for where you live.

Leafwell also has an opportunity that may interest some patients. They provide the chance to join cannabis research study groups.

Joining the group will give you the opportunity to learn about your condition and how you may be able to best treat it.

On the other hand, if you want little to no interaction when it comes to you and your medication, that is fine too.

The Final Verdict: Leafwell VS Veriheal

Leafwell and Veriheal are two MMJ platforms that offer similar services with different key benefits.

For most people, Leafwell is the better choice. It is a cheaper service and comes with a money-back guarantee. They have excellent state information and resources for patients as well.

In cases where you may have a tricky application process and want convenience, Veriheal may also be your best bet. Whether it be document issues, scheduling conflicts, or something else. Their support teams have more power to get things done.

They clearly have superior customer service capabilities. A shining example is the instant chat feature. This can resolve many patient problems before any real issues occur.

Lastly, Veriheal makes it easy for patients to access their medicine. And they provide a wider range of services beyond giving MMJ recommendations. If you are a patient that wants more services despite the cost then Veriheal is the right option for you.
