Best CBD Vape Cartridge: Tried & Tested Review

With the huge variety of CBD vape cartridges available, choosing just one becomes a sweet dilemma, akin to selecting a single ice cream flavor during a sweet tooth fueled, late-night grocery hunt.

Pick a poor-quality CBD cartridge and it might unleash a coughing fit or fail to be the swift and soothing release you need. Never mind attempting to dodge the fly by night companies not even testing their products for quality and safety.

Wanna skip all this hassle? Keep reading for my take on the best CBD vape cartridge you can buy today.

Editorial Note: All the products recommended in this article have been tried and tested by the reviewer for just over a week. Including comparing potency, effects, flavor, and ease of inhalation. Each cartridge has also been cross-referenced with its associated set of third-party lab tests and the results have been summarized in each review for you to see.

CBD Cartridge Review Criteria

Physical Product Testing

CBD Vape Carts On Table

The most accurate method to determine the best CBD vape cartridges is by testing them (duh!).

It’s also conveniently the most fun method. We have personally tested every single one of the carts on this list to make sure they hit the spot and don’t taste horrible.

Only the best CBD vape cartridges earned a spot on our list.

Third-Party Lab Testing

The first thing you should do before buying any product, including a CBD vape cartridge, is check to make sure your product has been third-party lab tested and contains a Certificates of Analysis (COA).

Checking the COA for the CBD cartridge is the only way to be sure your CBD cartridge is safe and has accurate dosing.

Before we physically test any CBD cartridge, we look for its COA. We then ask:

  • Are the lab tests full panel? Or do they test for potency only?
  • Are the COAs accessible to the public?

The majority of brands only test for potency, which allows consumers to determine if their product contains the cannabinoid content listed on the label.

Full panel tests take things a step further, testing for purity and contamination, such as heavy metals, residual solvents, and harsh chemicals. These are certainly things you don’t want to be inhaling!

If you can’t find the COA for a CBD cartridge, we’d highly recommended to look at another brand.

Customer Service

The smartest brands have quality customer service because they know it will bring customers back.

This is why we considered the brand’s customer service quality (or lack thereof) before putting anything on this list.

When evaluating customer service, we look for things like:

  • Free shipping
  • Satisfaction guarantees
  • First time order discounts
  • Subscription services
  • Frequent sales/deals

The more customer service policies a brand implements, the better the experience is likely to be.

Brand Reputation

CBD vape cartridges might not be as popular as THCA cartridges and other vape carts that get you high, but brands have still had time to build a reputation for themselves.

Suffice to say, we’ve noticed the ones that have done a successful job.

When analyzing a brand’s reputation, we ask:

  • Is the company a frontrunner in the hemp industry, specifically CBD?
  • Is the company known for crafting other high quality hemp products?

The second question might seem strange. But brands that consistently produce other premium hemp products are more likely to produce fire CBD products.

User Reports

Although we personally test every CBD cartridge recommended below, we know everyone reacts to products uniquely. So we look at what others have to say about all the CBD cartridges on this list too.

User reports are also helpful because they’re unbiased. A brand isn’t going to tell you that their CBD vape cartridge dies quickly or clogs. But a user that’s not getting anything out of leaving a review sure will.

We look through subreddits, public forums, and more to guarantee we’re getting the most honest reviews in our pursuit of the best CBD vape cartridge.

Then, we ask the following questions:

  • Does the brand have a lot of positive reviews?
  • What are customers saying about the brand or their products?
  • Do current users agree with our assessment? Why or why not?

Brands with good user reports tend to produce better CBD cartridges than those without.

Best CBD Vape Cartridges 2024

1. Full Spectrum CBD Vape Cartridge | Tribe Tokes

Tribe Tokes has been making moves with its Full Spectrum CBD Vape Cartridge. This women-owned brand is a forerunner of the clean vape movement, and they’ve acquired hundreds of positive customer reviews. It’s easy to see why after trying out their full spectrum 1g carts.

Top Pick: Best CBD Cartridge
Full Spectrum CBD Vape Cartridge | Tribe Tokes
Pros:
  • Full third party tested
  • On point flavor
  • 46% CBD + 10%+ CBG
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Plant derived terpenes
LEARN MORE NOW

You already know Tribe Tokes has their COAs handled and available. They do third party full panel tests, testing for cannabinoid potency, heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides, microbial content, and more.

They also update their COAs regularly so they correspond to the most recent batch of CBD products. Leave it to women to be on top of it. Barbie would be proud.

At just over 46% CBD potency and being priced at $60 for 1g, you’ll be dropping $0.128 per mg of CBD (or $0.10 per mg of total cannabinoids). Yup. These aren’t the cheapest, not by a long shot.

But, these CBD cartridges are delicious. I loved the Gelato strain, a hybrid I know and love. It tasted like berries and cream with citrus undertones. It’s sweet without subjecting you to the gross aftertaste of artificial flavors.

Given the fact these cartridges contain plant derived terps, I was surprised I loved them so much when it comes to flavor. Yup. My sweet tooth was singing!

tribe tokes vape cartridges

The other strains Tribe Tokes offers (like Northern Lights) are slightly more herbal for those that have a more down-to-earth palette.

And, amazing news, these have CBG! I’m obsessed with CBG and wish it was in everything. It’s like the ranch of the Hemp world.

The Tribe Tokes cart, which has approximately 10mg CBG, is no different. It had me all smiley without any coughing or anxiety fits.

There’s nine different strains you can choose from. These include the hybrids: Juicy Fruit, Gelato, and Birthday Cake; the sativas: Green Crack, Hawaiian Dream, and Mango Haze; and the indicas: Remedy, Granddaddy Purp, and Northern Lights.

If there could be an “It Girl” of CBD brands, Tribe Tokes would take the title. Not just for their vape quality, but simply because of how freaking beautiful their packaging is.

Seriously. White background with reflection gold and a giant weed leaf? With the phrase “Built By Girls, Powered By Plants” at the bottom?

I’ve simply fallen and can’t get up. Tribe Toke’s packaging has me whipped.

2. CBD Live Resin Cartridge | Secret Nature

The quality of Secret Nature’s vape juice isn’t a secret anymore. The cat is out of the bag. And the cat will leave you intensely relaxed instead of hissing at you. Each Secret Nature CBD live resin cartridge contains 1200 mg of CBD. They carts are full spectrum, 100% organic, and have zero additives.

Runner Up: Best Flavor
CBD Live Resin Vape Cartridge | Secret Nature

  • 55% CBD
Cons:

Secret Nature doesn’t keep any secrets regarding their COAs (last “secret” pun, I swear). They do full panel testing, testing for potency and impurities. You can find the COA easily via the QR code on the back of the package.

Priced at $55 and a potency of 55% CBD, each 1200mg cart contains approximately 660mg CBD. So, you’ll be spending around $0.083 per mg of CBD.

I tested the strain Orange Royale. A sativa with an incredibly strong terpene profile, the flavor was astounding. Think citrus mixed with gasoline. But in the best possible way.

Secret Nature Orange Royal CBD Live Resin Cartridge

The effects were decent but not as strong as I’d hoped for. I felt slightly more energized and less anxious after hitting it a few times.

While I was expecting a slightly more noticeable impact with this CBD cartridge, this is definitely a good vape cart to bring to a workout or a social outing. Especially because of its bomb flavor. I struggled to put it down if I’m honest, puffing away on it like it’s a never ending fairytale.

It’s even dressed to impress in elegant packaging. Navy blue background with shimmering gold labeling? Doesn’t get much classier than that.

Overall, the best thing about this cart was the flavor. It was on point compared to its terpene profile and if you’re a terp hunter, I’d recommend you check this one out. But, if you’re after the strongest CBD cartridge, keep reading!

3. Full Spectrum CBD Cartridge | Kiara Naturals

Kiara Naturals makes some of the best CBD cartridges on the market. Their all-natural (hence the name) CBD cartridges use a slow, repetitive extraction process. The result? An incredibly concentrated CBD cart.

  • COA is over a year old
  • Only potency tested

Kiara doesn’t consider their CBD cartridges to be refillable CBD cartridges. Note that most CBD vape cartridges are not refillable anyway.

Luckily, one Kiara Naturals CBD oil cartridge has between 100 – 300 inhales (depending on how long you draw while vaping CBD) so each vape cartridge should last you a while. My CBD cartridge lasted me a solid week with consistent use and it was just under half full at the end.

Each vape cartridge is tested for potency and you can the barcode on the back of the package to access the COA.  Unfortunately, when I tried to replicate this on the Kiara website it was difficult to find.

When I went to the product page and clicked on view lab tests, it led me to a page where I had to entire the batch number. But, if like you, I’m searching for a CBD cartridge and I haven’t bought it yet then how am I meant to check the COA before buying it?!

I did manage to find a COA for the distillate used in the cartridge after searching through multiple product pages. Annoying AF though and it isn’t a final product lab test. Bummer and red flag.

Each cartridge contains approx 550 mg of CBD. Priced at $39 a cartridge, you’ll be spending $0.07 per mg of CBD.

In my experience Kiara Naturals undeniably makes some effective CBD vape cartridges. But, the lack of transparency re lab testing sucks. Kiara’s vapes also only come in one flavor: natural.

I’m not even sure what natural is. This is a distillate cart, meaning the extract purges terps and they must have been re-added as there is a hemp flavor to it for sure. But, it’s not clear and this is something they could certainly improve on.

As a sweet-addict, I wish they had CBD cartridges for those of us that still have the palate of a third-grader…Blue dream or pineapple express please!

Kiara Quick Bliss CBD Vape Carts

These CBD carts are produced with full spectrum Cannabidiol. Which each containing CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, and less than 0.3% THC according to the label and the CBD distillate COA.

The effects are immediately noticeable. This CBD cartridge left me chill as a cucumber and took away most of the soreness from my workout the previous day. If it wasn’t for the lack of full panel third party testing I’d have rated this as the best CBD cart, it delivers in respect to potency and effects.

The packaging is also adorable. It makes vaping CBD feel like opening a love letter. You just peel off the top and voila, you have one of the strongest CBD cartridges on the market.

While the packaging is delightful, I honestly hate the vape battery you can buy with it (as an add on). When you open the vape, you remove the rubber seals and then insert the cart into a CCELL square battery.

I know. CCELL is a premium batteries brand and my colleagues love them. Using it is not difficult either but it bothered me. Maybe I just don’t like square batteries and I’m battery-shaming. You decide.

4. CBD Live Resin Cart | Exhale Well

Exhale Well’s CBD Live Resin Carts are housed in small glass cartridges containing full spectrum hemp-derived CBD.

Live resin and CBD are two peas in a pod. They enhance one another. And together, they give these pre-filled CBD cartridges effects you can feel. But, as you’ll find out, all is not what it seems with the marketing here.

Cons:
  • No final product COA
  • Not really live resin terps

Each CBD cartridge undergoes third-party lab testing for quality and to ensure it’s compliant with the Farm Bill Complaint (must contain 0.3% THC or less). Unfortunately, the tests are not full panel.

The COAs can be accessed by scanning the barcode on the back of the package or online. But I couldn’t find the COA for the Fruity Cereal CBD + Live Resin cart. There was only a set of lab tests for the CBD extract used in this cartridge. Sucks!

They run at $39.95. And while the label suggests each cart contains 500mg CBD, the COA for the extract used suggests it actually contains approx 600mg CBD.

With 600mg of CBD in each cartridge, you’ll be spending $0.066 per mg of CBD.

While Exhale markets these as live resin carts, they are not that. Firstly, the extract is a distillate (although it looks like they’ve combined isolated cannabinoids in to make it full spectrum) and secondly, the terpenes are not only cannabis derived.

Nope. They’re not. They’re actually a combo of plant derived terps and Hemp derived.

Exhale Well CBD Full Spectrum Cartridge

Nonetheless I still thought that Exhale Well’s CBD carts still hit the spot with some seriously delicious flavor. They currently have Pineapple Express, Fruity Cereal, Blackberry Kush, Louis XIII, Strawberry Gelato, and Wedding Cake available.

While the effects might vary depending on which strain you choose. I tested out Fruity Cereal for this review.

I get pretty bad text-neck from typing so much. I hit this while typing and felt my neck muscles slowly begin to unclench. I would have thanked the CBD cartridge out loud if I hadn’t been in public. Maybe I should have anyway. Awkward?!

The packaging is simple, easy to open, and recyclable.

Admirably, Exhale Well is also really stepping up in the community. At time of publishing, they’ve started a “Hemp for Hawaii” campaign to help provide food, clothing, and shelter to help those victims of the Lahaina wildfires.

50% of proceeds from Hawaiian Haze and Pineapple flower, tropical gummies, and Mango and Pineapple Express vape carts/disposables will go to Hawaii.

And for a limited time, 100% of proceeds of sales from their “Maui Wowie” line (a new product line created with Lahaina in mind) will go towards the Hawai’i Community Foundation.

Donating to Hawaii may not make their vape cartridges superior to other CBD cartridges….but it sure makes me want to support the company.

5. CBD Vape Cartridge | Just CBD

When it comes to buying CBD cartridges you can believe in, the live resin 1000mg CBD cartridge by Just CBD is a great option. With natural plant based terpenes, this CBD oil cartridge is delicious, affordable, and contains some of the best CBD oil on the market.

The potency-only lab tests ensure that all products are labeled with the correct amount of cannabinoids, that broad spectrum products have no THC, and that full spectrum products have under 0.3% THC.

Priced at $19.99 these are insanely cheap.

But, does the COA match up with the label? The most recent lab tests confirms the cartridge contains 49% CBD, you’ll only be spending $0.04 per mg CBD.

But, when you consider the other cannabinoids in this cart, it works out be approx $0.03 per mg. That makes it the cheapest option on this list by a long shot.

Just CBD Blue Dream Cart

I tried Blue Dream, a well-known hybrid famous for delivering hardcore flavor profiles. This CBD cartridge didn’t disappoint. It tastes like blueberries rolled in sugar.

The effect was uplifting. It made me want to be creative but I was also still entirely clear-headed, making the Blue Dream a particularly good strain to bring to work.

It’s also awesome that you can see the vape cart through the packaging. It made me want to open it right away.

6. Full Spectrum CBD Cartridge | Extract Labs

Extract Labs has been one to watch in the CBD cartridge industry. They’ve got a great reputation in the industry, and their 1g pre-filled CBD cartridges containing terpene infused CBD distillate (with CBT & CBG) rightfully earned their spot on our list of the best CBD vape cartridges.

CBD concentration will vary slightly per batch but on average its labeled to be approx 42% CBD. But, this vape is kind of unique in respect to its cannabinoid concentration.

With it also featuring 16% of CBG and 27% CBT (another minor cannabinoid we don’t often see in such high concentrations).

Scan the QR code on the back of the package and then type in the batch number for full panel COA results. Extract Labs also has their full terpenes breakdown available, which is incredibly useful.

At $34.99, you’ll be spending around $0.08 per mg of CBD (with 418mg per cart). But, when you consider the other compounds mentioned above, it works out to be around $0.04 per MG of cannabinoids. That’s a Robinhood approved steal!

I tried out God’s Gift, an indica-dominant hybrid. My first hit shook me because it was so smooth. Flavor-wise, there were some hints of grape and earth. Think rich red wine.

Extract Labs CBD Vape Cartridge

After a handful of hits I could feel the effects. It left me relaxed and daydreamy for a couple of hours. I’d say this is a great cart for those looking for something to hit while being creative.

The packaging is aesthetically pleasing. I adore the mountain range. It makes me want to take it camping. Plus, the Batch ID is clear on the side. We applaud the transparency.

Nonetheless, rest assured the COA you obtain via the QR code on the product when you receive it is at a batch level and its full panel. Literally all we can ask for.

7. CBD Vape Cart | BudPop

BudPop is yet another reputable brand in the CBD industry. I told you guys there’s a lot. This brand’s CBD live resin cartridge is vegan, non-gmo, and uses natural terpenes for flavor.

  • Decent pricing

There’s a QR code on the side of the package. Scan it and it will send you to a page with all of BudPop’s COAs. But, I couldn’t find BudPop’s CBD carts lab tests on this page.

I checked out their Delta 8 THC carts COAs, with results that were a full panel. But, where’s the CBD ones BudPop?

At the bottom is says email them to request COAs if you can’t see one you want to see. But, why do I need to request it?!

A 1g cart is priced at $39.95, so you’ll be spending $0.08 per mg, assuming the label of 500mg CBD matches up to the actual product contents.

My favorite thing about this CBD cartridge is the flavor. It’s in the same league as Exhale Well’s Fruity Cereal CBD cart. And I have some high standards for fruity cereal.

BudPop Fruity Cereal CBD Vape Cart

It’s rich, sweet, and fruity. If Exhale Well is Fruity Pebbles, BudPop Fruity Cereal is cereal milk. Don’t lie. I know you drink it too.

The effects left me significantly more…content? Usually, if I’m not faded I have to be moving. I hit this cart all day. While I didn’t get faded, I was able to sit still.

Its cute packaging matches the vibe of the strain. Fruity Cereal is pink and white, with clear labeling and aesthetically pleasing font.

8. CBD Cart | Plain Jane

Plain Jane is an OG on the hemp scene. With CBD distillate extracted from Oregon-grown hemp that’s been third-party tested, their simple CBD vape cart is great if you’re looking for something lighter in terms of effects.

38% CBD Vape Cart | Plain Jane

  • Free shipping on orders over $40

Cons:

Scan the QR code on the side of the package to access the COAs or easily find them under the product information on Plain Jane’s website. Plain Jane does full panel testing.

Priced at $29.99 and containing 338mg CBD, you’ll be dropping $0.08/mg of CBD. But this lowers to around $0.056 per mg when you consider all the cannabinoids in the mix.

What’s interesting about this vape, at least for me, is its high (7%) CBC content. This is a minor cannabinoid you don’t usually see in these concentrations in a cart. So, if it interests you this one will be right up your street.

Plaine Jane GSC

The vape, while incredibly smooth, doesn’t have the taste I would expect when hitting something labeled Girl Scout Cookies. Usually, Girl Scout Cookies is sweet but also earthy, kind of like cherries.

It did have a relaxing effect, though. It left me in a calm but not foggy cloud for several hours after about five or six hits.

I will say that I don’t love Plain Jane’s packaging. It bothers me that the amount of mg isn’t clearly displayed on the front of the box. Also, I know that “plain” is in their name meaning their branding is pretty simple, but it would be nice to have some kind of design.

I do, however, appreciate that the packaging lets you see the cart inside. You can get a good look at Plain Jane’s quality CBD vape carts before purchasing.

CBD Cartridge Buying Guide

Things To Consider

CBD Type: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, or Isolate

If you’re like me and get confused by anything even resembling science, I’ve got you. We’re going to make it real easy.

Full spectrum is CBD that contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other natural compounds found in cannabis plants. This means that full spectrum products will have at least some THC, just not more than the 0.3% legal limit.

Many of the best CBD cartridges are full spectrum because it encourages the entourage effect, a well-accepted idea that the various compounds in the cannabis plant work better together than they do alone.

If that’s confusing at all, think the more, the merrier except the more, the higher! But remember, CBD doesn’t get you high.

And fair warning! Because full spectrum carts contain THC, they can make you fail a drug test (yes, even if it’s less than 0.3%).

Broad spectrum, on the other hand, won’t.

Broad Spectrum CBD has a range of cannabinoids and terpenes just like full spectrum, meaning it also encourages the entourage effect. But the THC is intentionally removed during extraction.

Broad spectrum is cool because you get the benefits of the entourage effect but can still pass a drug test.

Finally, we have CBD isolate. Isolated CBD is CBD in its purest form. It has no other cannabinoids or terpenes, unless they’ve been re-introduced/added (which in the case of carts they will have been).

Don’t underestimate isolate when you’re on a mission to buy CBD cartridges. Just because isolate CBD vapes only contain CBD doesn’t mean they can’t be some of the best CBD cartridges for you! It really depends on what you’re looking for.

If your drug tested, then Isolate carts are your safest option if you want complete peace of mind (broad spec can contain tiny traces still).

Kiara cart in ccell pen

CBD Potency

When vaping CBD oil, considering how much CBD is in your vape juice is paramount.

Some carts contain more CBD than others. It’s important to check potency when purchasing any product.

A higher potency means a more concentrated amount of CBD per puff, meaning you’ll feel the effects more.

If you’re looking for more intense effects, look for higher potencies. And vice versa.

Terpene Concentration

Terpenes also play an important role in choosing the right CBD cartridge.

This is because terpenes are largely responsible for the aromas and flavors of different strains. For example, they’re what make Blue Dream taste like blueberries and God’s Gift like red wine.

Depending on the vape, the terpenes may be derived from the cannabis plant or from the hemp plant. Both are totally legal.

If you like the flavor of vaped weed, try to go for cannabis derived.

The percentage of terpenes, just like the mg of CBD, varies. The higher the percentage the more flavor that the cart will have.

Lab Testing

When looking to buy CBD cartridges it’s also important to ask: What kind of lab testing does the brand offer?

If there’s no COAs at all, you may want to look for a different brand.

The gold standard when it comes to lab testing is full panel third party tests.

Is The Hemp US Grown?

The hemp being US-grown isn’t a deal breaker. But in the US you can rely on the regulations at a state level for growing hemp.

Some of the best are Oregon, Kentucky, and Colorado.

Although, other countries known for notable Hemp quality are Switzerland and Spain.

Hemp grown in the US also decreases the hemp plant’s carbon footprint, as it doesn’t have to be transported overseas.

Things To Avoid

MCT & Vitamin E Acetate

CBD has a ton of health benefits. But Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) and Vitamin E Acetate (VEA) do not.

Vitamin E Acetate is naturally occurring and safe for oral and topical use. However, inhalation has been linked to EVALI (E-cigarette or Vaping Product Use-Associated Lung Injury).

EVALI is related to several lung injuries and even fatalities.

MCT, derived from coconut oil, is FDA-approved for ingestion and skin application. However, it should not be vaped.

Orange Royal Cart In a Vape On A Table

No Third Party COAs

It’s important to make sure that the COAs come from a third-party. Why?

Since a third-party agent has no vested interest in the outcome of the tests, the results are more reliable and unbiased. Most CBD vape cartridges are reviewed by a third-party for this reason.

Companies avoiding using third-parties for their tests may have something to hide.

Ambiguity

You know how people are really vague when there’s something they don’t want you to know?

Companies are like that, too.

If there’s a lack of product content, no confirmation of the source of CBD, no lab tests, or other lacking information you would expect to see, it’s a good idea to avoid the brand.

Do CBD Cartridges Get You High?

Nope. Vaping CBD oil won’t get you high.

Although CBD comes from the same plant as THC, the compound oh-so-infamous for its psychoactive effects, CBD does not get you high.

It won’t leave you faded. But it does have other potential benefits.

According to research, most people use CBD to support general health and wellbeing, reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, promote sleep, increase focus, and decrease pain and inflammation, and more.

While CBD won’t get you high, some carts also contain THC. THC, as we all know, can get you high.

Do You Need THC In Your CBD Cart?

Not if you don’t want it!

When it comes to having THC in CBD cartridges, it’s entirely up to you.

Skip the THC if you’re only seeking the health benefits of the cannabis plant, don’t want any psychoactive effect at all, or need to pass a drug test.

Look for ones with THC if you’re looking for the entourage effect or want some more intense effects.

If you’re interested in a CBD cart that contains more THC than 0.3%, check out products that contain a 1:1 THC/CBD ratio. They won’t get you blasted like a dab, but the equal combo of both is legit, in my opinion anyway. But remember, a 1:1 ratio will get you lit somewhat!

CBD Carts Require A Signature

When you order CBD cartridges online, know that they require a signature upon arrival.

This is all thanks to the PACT Act. PACT stands for Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking. Essentially, it prohibits the mailing of cigarettes.

If you’re asking yourself, “Um, okay, but CBD carts aren’t cigs?” don’t worry. I was confused too.

All you really need to know is that the PACT Act does apply to all cannabis vapor products.

It requires that you be 21 and there to sign for your CBD cartridge when it arrives.

The Final Verdict: Best CBD Prefilled Cartridge

After testing and reviewing all the carts we could get our hands on, we’ve finally decided. Tribe Tokes Full Spectrum CBD Vape Cartridge is the best CBD vape cartridge on the market.
