Tribe Tokes Review: CBD, D8 & HHC Tested
TribeTokes is a luxe Hemp brand founded and owned by women.
As a cannabis consumer who worked in one of NoCal’s first dispensaries for over five years, I couldn’t wait to review this brand “built by girls and powered by plants.”
Keep reading for my TribeTokes review to get the dish on what I discovered when trying some of their products.
Is Tribe Tokes Legit?
Yes, Tribe Tokes is legit.
Notorious for the commitment to quality and transparency, all TribeTokes products are full-panel tested by a third-party lab for potency and purity.
They’ve secured a loyal customer base by pushing for purity over product sales, with customer testimonials giving kudos to the brand’s credibility, consistent quality, superb design, and user-friendly products.
Tribe Tokes Review: Overview
- Full panel third party tested
- Effects match potency
- Excellent customer service
- Expensive
- $125 minimum free shipping threshold
A passion for healthy living and healthy vaping brought TribeTokes’ co-founders Degelis Tufts Pilla and Kimberly Byrnes together.
My kind of girls.
The idea behind the brand was simple. To provide exceptionally clean, potent, and healthy vapes amidst a landscape of subpar products.
In 2017, the brand became a pioneer in the clean vaping movement when it launched with a proprietary line of all-natural, strain-specific vape oil.
Two years later, TribeTokes’ commitment to clean vaping was recognized when Rolling Stone featured it as a brand producing clean vape products during the 2019 vape crisis.
Today, TribeTokes is a thriving, well-trusted brand with a variety of premium hemp-derived products.
Dive down the TribeTokes rabbit hole with us to see how the brand scored with our exhaustive and criteria-based rating evaluation.
TribeTokes Rating
In the often confusing world of cannabis, every detail matters.
That’s why the rating system used in our reviews ensures products aren’t just evaluated on the basics, but also on how they contribute to the consumer’s wellbeing, trust, and value for money.
Usability and performance ensure a product is user-friendly, delivers on its promises, and can withstand time (and maybe a few mishaps along the way)
Compliance is crucial to ensure the brand provides transparent and accurate third-party lab testing information.
Effects let consumers know the efficacy, consistency, potency, and duration of the product.
Customer experience rating considers product assortment, customer service policies, money-back guarantees, affordability, shipping, refund policies, and more.
Here’s how Tribe Tokes scored:
Overall Rating: 4.2/5
To determine the overall rating, we mix the (weighted) points of each category, kind of like making a cannabis cocktail! Points are based on a 1-5 rating system, with 5 being the highest possible rating.
Usability + Performance: 5/5
TribeTokes knows what they’re doing when it comes to top-performing, easy-to-use products. Their vapes hit as smooth as silk, and their gummies are (gorgeously) packaged to stay fresh. Their vapes had me so impressed I grabbed a few more once my sample ran out.
Compliance: 4/5
All TribeTokes products are third-party lab tested, with COAs easily accessible on the product page. Their vape carts are full-panel tested, while gummies are only tested for potency. Most reports are up-to-date, but we did find a few that are over a year old.
Effects Felt: 4/5
Every TribeTokes product I tried consistently offered the effects I was expecting. That said, the duration of the effects I did experience could’ve lasted longer.
Customer Experience: 4/5
Great selection, even though products are on the expensive side. You can get 15% off when you sign up for the TribeTokes email list, and they do offer a loyalty program that gives you exclusive rewards when you shop. You must spend $125 for free shipping, though.
Now that you know how this luxe hemp brand scored, let’s check out their product line of gourmet gummies and high-end vapes in this Tribe Tokes review.
TribeTokes Delta 8
Live Resin Delta 8 Gummies
Summary
I’ve been waiting for something like TribeTokes Live Resin Delta 8 Gummies to grace the legal hemp market.
Seriously, I’m so impressed that I don’t even care they’re only available in one flavor.
Each strawberry-flavored 25mg live resin Delta 8 gummies contains a boost of 5mg CBD.
Made with natural colors and flavors, these vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO gummies come in a 20-count box for $50.
Purchase two boxes for $90, and you’ll save $10. Go for the gold and buy three for $130 and save $20.
Because they’re made with Delta 8 THC, these gummies will produce a mild psychoactive effect similar to Delta 9 THC (but not as strong).
For those who don’t know, the Delta 8 high is less intense than traditional THC. In my opinion, this makes it excellent for new consumers curious about the effects of cannabis.
Speaking of effects, these live resin gummies might just become my new go-to.
Effects
I’ve consumed cannabis edibles for years and eaten hundreds of gummies in my day.
While I typically prefer Delta 9 gummies over Delta 8 gummies, I must be honest.
After trying TribeTokes Live Resin Delta 8 Gummies, I may rethink my Delta 8 THC game.
On the package, it’s recommended to start with one-half (or less) of one 25mg D8 THC gummy.
I have a high tolerance, so I started with three gummies one morning on an empty stomach before consuming any other cannabis products.
Roughly 30 minutes later, a subtle, tingly sensation hinted that there was something in my system.
Now, 75mg of traditional THC would undoubtedly have me (and other experienced canna consumers) too high to function.
But 75mg of D8 via these gourmet gummies offered fully functional effects. Think wake-and-bake with strong coffee and sativa.
Surpassing my expectations, these Delta 8 gummies made productive but relaxed, energetic but not jumpy, and smiley but not faded.
I found myself sitting at my laptop catching up on writing assignments for hours jamming to music I didn’t even think I liked. I’ll definitely reach for these again when I want to appreciate music more, like before a concert.
About an hour after taking three gummies, I decided to take another two. The high didn’t get more intense, although I suspect it made it last longer.
The effects faded completely within five hours. And I experienced zero groggy comedown.
Positives
TribeTokes nailed the flavor of these sugar-dusted Delta 8 delights. Talk about craft taste in a craft product.
The flavor reminded me of fresh summer strawberries rolled in sugar, one of my personal favorite treats.
They come packaged in an adorable, drool-worthy box that reflects the quality of what’s inside. The simple gold and white label looks classy AF and clearly displays product information.
The lab reports are easily located on the product page. Dated 08/23/2023, the COA shows that these gummies contain what’s listed on the label.
According to lab test reports, each gummy contains 26.18mg Delta 8 THC and 5.9mg CBD.
This means there is a 10% variance from what’s advertised, which is totally acceptable. These gummies check out just fine.
Negatives
Unlike TribeTokes’ other products, their Delta 8 gummies are only tested for potency. Adding a QR code to the package that links customers to the COA would also be convenient.
While I enjoyed the effects of the initial three gummies I consumed, the second dose of two more gummies didn’t amplify the effects like I expected it would.
Lastly, while I love the strawberry flavor, a couple more flavor options would be cool.
Delta 8 Carts and Disposables
Summary
TribeTokes’ Delta 8 carts are made with two simple ingredients: cannabis distillate and terpenes.
Available in the following nine strains, these full-spectrum vape carts are honestly some of the best I’ve tried:
- Green Crack (sativa)
- Maui Wowie (sativa)
- NYC Diesel (sativa)
- Mango Haze (sativa)
- Blue Dream (hybrid)
- Gelato (hybrid)
- Birthday Cake (hybrid)
- Pineapple Express (hybrid)
- Remedy (indica)
- Granddaddy Purp (indica)
- Zkittlez (indica)
- Northern Lights (indica)
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate putting the type of strain (sativa, indica, hybrid) next to the product itself. Talk about making it effortless for consumers to know exactly what they’re shopping for.
Priced at $60 for one gram of some of the highest quality vape oil available on the market, it’s not a bad deal at all.
They feature a universal 510 thread, compatible with any pen sporting 510 connectors. I had compatible batteries already, but Tribe Tokes was nice enough to send two.
The Tribe Mini reminded me of holding a luxury car key. It comes with two half-gram and two full-gram magnet adapters, as well as a USB-C charger.
It’s insanely portable, folding easily in my palm. It should be very discreet while vaping in public.
The Saber is larger, and I liked it more than the Mini. TribeTokes markets it to look like a car key, but it reminded me more of a pocketknife. It folds like one, adding a little thrill to your vaping experience.
Additionally, TribeTokes offers ready-to-use disposable vapes for $50 filled with the same high-quality, full-spectrum Delta 8 as their carts.
Effects
I tried TribeTokes’ Delta 8 Blue Dream cart after a long day. One of my favorite strains, Blue Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid that makes me feel uplifted, relaxed, and creative.
I took about five pulls while making dinner, and a clear-headed euphoria set in almost immediately.
Note that there will be some variance in effects depending on how much you inhale, but I try to keep it as consistent as possible when reviewing vape products.
The mental high was much more noticeable than the body high, which I found relaxing but not demanding attention.
This is a good one for those who like vaping but find the effects of traditional THC carts too intense.
The effects lasted about 40 minutes before I felt the need to take another pull. On my second go with this cart, I only took three hits, just enough to lift me back up.
Overall, it is a great middle-of-the-road option for when you want to take off the edge but stay present.
Positives
Tribe Tokes is the valedictorian of vapes, flaunting results on the packaging with a mini COA. It boasts 75.8% Delta-8 THC and 83.2% total cannabinoids, with no heavy metals or pesticides.
I double-checked the COA online to ensure they match up, which they do.
You’ll also find a full-panel COA online, which can be easily accessed via the QR code on the package.
I love that the cart says “D8” at the bottom. It’s an extremely helpful feature if you have several carts open at once that you use with different batteries.
My favorite thing about this product, however, is how amazingly smooth it is.
I had a cold when I hit this, sore throat and all. But get this. It didn’t cause any discomfort at all. Instead, it was like swallowing a soft cloud with hints of earthy lavender.
Negatives
Unfortunately, the COA is dated 10/10/2022. Over one year old, it would be ideal if TribeTokes offered lab results from the last six months.
TribeTokes HHC Vapes
Summary:
TribeTokes HHC Vapes are a full-spectrum experience that includes CBD, CBG, and strain-specific terpenes to ensure maximum entourage effect.
Staying true to its reputation, Tribe Tokes keeps it clean with only two ingredients: full-spectrum distillate hemp-derived and plant-baked terpenes.
The flavor lineup features:
- Mango Haze (sativa)
- Gelato (hybrid)
- Granddaddy Purp (indica)
These one-gram carts made without MCT, PG, PEG, VP, or Vitamin E Acetate are priced at $60.
Craving convenience? They’ve got you covered with disposables in the same strains for $50.
Effects:
I took the Gelato strain for a spin, a personal go-to hybrid.
Expecting to ride cloud nine, I cruised on cloud 4.5 instead – not high, but basking in mild euphoria and relaxation.
It’s not surprising, though, considering the HHC high is known to be milder than a Delta 9 high.
These are honestly some of my new favorite carts. I liked them enough that I went out and bought more.
I’ve found them perfect for hitting while writing, before working out, or for any situation where I want to be clear-headed and have zero anxiety.
Compared to the Delta 8 carts, the HHC carts produced a less potent effect. But they were even better at reducing my anxiety when taking the same amount of pulls.
Positives:
This cart doesn’t play hide-and-seek with its contents; the COA is right on the packaging, boasting 67.6% HHC, 5.8% CBD, 1.3% CBG, and 77.1% total cannabinoids.
Dated 07/21/2023, the COA is also recent, with results that reflect full-panel lab testing.
Just like the Delta 8 cart, it’s got “HHC” labeled at the bottom for those likely to forget which cart is which.
Negatives:
Now, for the buzzkills.
The effect is as mild as salsa for people who think pepper is spicy — great for those seeking gentle relief but might disappoint the “let’s get super stoned” crowd.
If you’re looking to calm anxiety or simply take the edge off, these are perfect.
If you’re looking to get high, check out TribeTokes Delta 8 carts or other options on the market like THCA carts, which yields the same effects as Delta 9 THC.
I also wish they lasted longer. While effective for approximately 30 minutes after five pulls, it’d be cool if the effects lasted closer to an hour.
Also, like their D8 counterparts, these carts might have you digging deep into your pockets, considering the price tag.
TribeTokes CBD Carts and Disposables
Summary:
Tribe Tokes is rolling out the green carpet with its CBD vape carts and disposables.
Their CBD carts offer a buffet of bliss with the same nine strain options found in their Delta 8 carts, while the CBD disposables are available in 3 different strains.
Each one-gram cart is priced at $60, while CBD disposables are $50.
Keeping it clean and green, both versions contain just two ingredients: full-spectrum distillate and plant terpenes.
Effects:
After reading what a coworker had to say in our CBD Vape Cartridge round up, I had to try them out for myself. True to my coworker’s sentiments, the Gelato cart I smoked on offered a super smooth wave of chill.
These became one of my favorite carts to hit when I was feeling antsy, but didn’t want to get high. Because they’re made with CBD and don’t cause a psychoactive effect. Just pure, relaxed bliss.
For taste, think berries-and-cream-meets-citrus-medley.
These are perfect for, say, surviving a family dinner without losing your cool.
Positives:
Choice is king, and with so many strain options, you’re like a kid in a candy store.
The hits are as smooth as your pickup lines when you’re convinced the pizza man is your soulmate.
And these COAs are up-to-date, my friends.
I checked out the Gelato CBD cart COA online. The report was as fresh as morning dew, dated 7/31/23, with the full panel shebang of testing results.
Negatives:
Now, let’s talk downers.
While the carts deliver on quality, they might not meet the needs of those seeking a stronger, more intense experience. These are more “zen in the chaos” than “escape to Mars.”
Plus, they’re a bit of a splurge. But can you really put a price tag on peace of mind?
CBN Gummies
Summary:
Honestly? Sweet dreams are made of these.
TribeTokes offers something that will have insomniacs sleeping in seconds (okay maybe not that fast), but these CBN gummies with a touch of CBG could be considered the perfect natural nightcap.
Each of these peach-flavored gummies contains 20mg CBN and 10mg CBD. They come packaged in the same 20-count classy box as TribeTokes’ other gummies and are priced at $50.
Effects:
I took three of these peachy dreams on an empty stomach before eating dinner and after about seven hours of consuming any other cannabis products (I had two bong rips after lunch).
Me and my sister settled down for a movie after dinner, but I never saw the end credits. I crashed hard.
Maybe the movie was just dull, or maybe these gummies genuinely pack a punch in the relaxation department.
These kicked in much faster and hit much harder than I was expecting.
If sleep is what you’re after, these gummies are the ones to get.
Positives:
The peach flavor is genuinely enjoyable, reminiscent of an orange creamsicle with a hint of hemp.
The COA, dated 08/25/2023, is recent and backs potency claims made on the package, showing 10.75 CBD and 20.02mg CBN for 30.77 total cannabinoids.
This is almost precisely what the package markets, so this COA falls well within our 10% variance limit.
Negatives:
However, there are drawbacks.
TribeTokes hasn’t included a QR code for easy access to information.
And there’s that one flavor thing again, just like their other gummy options. I would love to see more choices when it comes to taste.
The Final Verdict: Tribe Tokes Review
So, does this luxe hemp brand live up to its classy cannabis reputation?
From what I gathered from the products I tried, TribeTokes is 100% the quality company they claim to be.
- Full panel third party tested
- Effects match potency
- Excellent customer service
- Expensive
- $125 minimum free shipping threshold
Each vape cart and disposable was smooth as silk with a tasty terpene profile.
The taste and effects of the live resin gummies were perfect despite the lack of flavor choices.
A bit on the expensive side, yes. But quality doesn’t come cheap. And from my experience, spending a bit extra on TribeTokes products is money well spent.
