Experience

Dr. Abraham Benavides, a globally recognized cannabis consultant, dedicates his career to transforming public perception and understanding of cannabis. With a profound educational journey at George Washington University and Boston University, he has uniquely positioned himself as a leader in cannabis education and policy advocacy, particularly in the realms of Hispanic public health and cannabis law reform in the US and Costa Rica.

Dr. Benavides has authored numerous cannabis e-books and CME courses, along with having worked for or featured in the GW Center for Medicine, Complementary Therapies In Medicine Journal, Veriheal and more.

Surviving a severe COVID-19 infection, Dr. Benavides faced new challenges with Long COVID, POTS, and PTSD, leading him to relocate to Costa Rica to focus on healing and enhancing his quality of life. This personal journey further deepened his empathy and understanding of what’s important to him and his family.

As a cannabis coach and medical reviewer, Dr. Benavides offers expert guidance in cannabis science, product choice, and healthy consumption strategies. He crafts in-depth, personalized cannabis action plans, ensuring a thoughtful and informed approach for each individual.

Outside of work, Dr. Benavides cherishes his life in Costa Rica, embracing nature and beach life with his wife and pug, Bruschetta. His other interests include being a foodie and an individual with a strong interest in cryptocurrency both add depth to his personality, enriching his perspectives and connections with people.
